Mrs. Knoepfel's Computer Science Essentials class had to use their problem solving process and skills to complete tasks with a twist - one person can't see, one can't hear, and one can't speak! Some examples of the problems were to sort blocks by color and make a tower out of the red blocks, sort Uno cards and put the red and yellow cards in numerical order, build a tower with dominos using only dominos with 2 or 6, and send an email to Mrs. Knoepfel about what they had for dinner and what was being served for lunch. #ColonelTOUGH

Mr. Newberry's PLTW Introduction to Engineering and Design class has been busy working on collaborating skills, developing catapults with certain criteria, and measuring the accuracy/precision of their devices! The 8th graders from CRMS also visited the classroom. They experienced using a flight simulator, explored the several projects the program makes in the engineering program, and learned about the 3D process! #ColonelTOUGH

Mrs. Kinlock's Creative Writing students explored the elements of short fiction by brainstorming possible characters, settings, and conflicts for the short stories they will be writing! #ColonelTOUGH

Today is School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, and we are so fortunate to have Cpl. Mark Hopkins of the Caroline County Sheriff's Department as our SRO! He never hesitates to help someone in need and is a positive role model to our students. We're grateful to have such an outstanding law enforcement officer keeping us safe! #ColonelTOUGH

CRHS junior parents and guardians, the class of 2026 has a prom to put on! Class advisors will meet Wednesday, February 19th at 6 PM at CRHS to discuss plans. We will need many hands-on volunteers - parents and students both! If you aren't able to come in person, but still want to help out, we will post a "wish list" of decor and other donations needed once we have it. Email Mr. Cheezum with questions at cheezum.thomas@ccpsstaff.org. #ColonelTOUGH

Mr. Shelly's PLTW Biomedical Sciences program visited R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore City! There they heard from a crash survivor of shock trauma, took a tour, and got to participate in a training simulation. After lunch, they visited the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems to see the organization of the medical evacuation coordination of the state's helicopters units.
Special thanks to the Eastern Shore Area Health Education Center for helping make this trip possible! #ColonelTOUGH

Happy Valentine's Day, Colonel Family! #ColonelTOUGH
