
Mrs. Price's Environmental Earth Science students had a class competition to create and build a dog house that would not change temperature in the presence of sunlight at the least amount of expense. At our Arts & Academic Showcase, Mr. Shelly's and Ms. Warden's PLTW Biomedical Sciences and Engineering students presented their capstone projects! These projects require the students to use their skills to design, test, analyze and evaluate a solution to a problem. #ColonelTOUGH

Outdoor Classroom to help improve mental health - Manny Wallace, Brayden Dadds, Austin Alexander, and Logan Moyer redesigned the courtyard to make it a usable and calming place that will be sustainable in the future for students to use.
Necklace Organizer - Katelyn Gosnell and Ally Jester designed and made a case that is portable to help people store their jewelry in a more careful and efficient manner.
Universal Socket - Brayden Wezel, Brandon Rommell, and Jeremiah Cephas designed an adjustable socket to place on a wrench to help increase the speed of finding the correct socket for different-sized bolts.
Lower Extremity Injury Prevention - Molly Coughenhour, Albert Chavez Ramirez, and Trinity Welch designed and tested a video, book, and training plan to strengthen legs to help reduce ACL injuries.
Tracheostomy Cover - People with trachs can have trouble with water entering the trach during shower time. Ally Taylor, Meghan Lambert, and Clarissa Peugh designed a cover to help prevent the water from entering the trach.
Organic Dog Scrub - Lexi Beans and Makayla Newcomb designed a scrub to help improve dog bathing time and smell.
Heelys for Animals - Annabeth Hill, Kameron Passwaters, and Hashir Amjad created Helly boots for dogs to help improve the movement of dogs with limited mobility.
Reduce Littering - Kendall Sann and Annie Phillips designed a sign and placed it at Federalsburg Maria to help prevent littering and improve recycling.
Cere(al)bowl - Daniel Hesson, Levi Divjak, and Isaac Uva designed a bowl and spoon to help people with motor function disabilities eat easier.

Our varsity softball team played a hard fought game against North Dorchester High School last night, losing 5-4 in the playoffs. Seniors Olivia Christopher, Cheyenne Cayer, and Ally Taylor and junior Eileen Johnson all had hits. This team had a great year with a great group of girls! May 18th is Haitian Flag Day! It's the anniversary of the Haitian flag being adopted in 1803, commemorating their independence from the French.
We have about 30 students in our building who were born in Haiti or their parents were born in Haiti! Happy Flag Day to our Haitian students and their families. #ColonelTOUGH

For the second year in a row, we are the MPSSAA Class 1A East Region Champions!
Congratulations to the varsity baseball team for their thrilling 5-4 win over North Dorchester High School playoff win! After 10 innings and four hours of excellent baseball, senior Carter Walters had a walk off RBI single to end the game. Juniors Brayden Dadds and Daniel Hesson pitched, with senior Cam Gondeck coming in to finish the game for the win. Senior Chandler Tindall was 4-5, and seniors Conner Detrich, Gondeck, and Ashton Vail and junior Gavin Whitby all contributed hits.
The team moves on to the state quarterfinals on May 20th at 2 PM at home versus Central High School from PG County! #ColonelTOUGH #homegrown

For their PLTW Biomedical Sciences project, juniors Kendall Sann and Annie Phillips are making an impact in the Federalsburg community! They have installed a sign at the Federalsburg Marina reminding people to not litter with the slogan, "There is not planet B." When you're there, scan their QR code for their project! #ColonelTOUGH
