At their June meeting, the Caroline Board of Education approved the appointment of Thomas (Tommy) E. Jefferson, Jr. as principal at Colonel Richardson Middle School.
Mr. Jefferson joined the Caroline family in 2014 as a Special Education teacher at Colonel Richardson High School (CRHS). In 2019, he was appointed Dean of Students at CRHS, and in 2022, he moved to North Caroline High School in his current position as Assistant Principal. Mr. Jefferson earned his masters degree in Special Education from Wilmington University, and his graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Salisbury University.
"I'm truly honored to step into the role of principal at Colonel Richardson Middle School," Mr. Jefferson said. "I'm excited to join such a dedicated team of staff and students, and to build on the incredible work Dr. Holloway has done. Together, we'll keep growing a position, supportive environment for our Cougar family!"
The Board also approved the appointment of Tyrone Rorie as Assistant Principal at North Caroline High School. Mr. Rorie comes to Caroline from the Southeast Delco School District in Pennsylvania. He began his career in that district as a Business Education teacher and subsequently served as a secondary assistant principal. Mr. Rorie earned his masters degree in Education Administration from Holy Family University in Philadelphia.
“I look forward to working with Mr. Jefferson as he transitions to his new role at CRMS,” Dr. Simmons stated, “and welcoming Mr. Rorie to the Caroline family.”
In addition, the Board approved the following changes in titles. These changes were recommended in order to more accurate reflect the duties and responsibilities of the position.
