Good evening 8th grade families,
Tomorrow marks the start of state testing for 8th grade students. They will be taking the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment during their science classes over the course of four days. They will test tomorrow and Wednesday of this week, and Tuesday and Thursday of next week. It is very important that students are present and on time so they do not have to get pulled out of class later for a make-up session. First period testing begins right after the morning announcements at 7:40 a.m. If you must pick up your child early for an appointment on a testing day, please call or email the school to verify the time of your child's science class. If an early dismissal will impact their testing, they will sit out of testing so they are not cut short on time. It is very difficult to get a student out of an active testing session so it would be preferred that they do a make-up session rather than leaving in the middle.
As always, students should also be sure to bring a charged laptop to school for testing. Teachers and students have been preparing all year for this assessment and I can't wait to see how well they do!
