Last week, Ms. Weippert’s Chemistry classes took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed outside to collect data on carbon storage in trees!
Each team selected a tree to measure and calculate, then combined their findings to explore an important scientific concept: the larger the diameter of a tree, the more carbon it stores. 🌱
Fun fact: the largest tree in front of the school (the first one as you enter the drop-off loop) contains approximately 1.3 million moles of carbon—that’s one big tree! 😲🌳
Way to go, Bulldogs, for bringing science to life! 💙🐾

A huge congratulations to Ms. Yoxall and the NCHS Drama Club for an outstanding production of Mean Girls the Musical! Across four performances, the shows welcomed an incredible 568 total patrons over both weekends—well above typical attendance!
Did you know these productions are not part of a class? They are created entirely after school through the Drama Club, reflecting an incredible level of dedication from both students and Ms. Yoxall.
A special thank you as well to Mr. Dehenaut for co-advising and supporting the club in every way. We also appreciate our community for showing up and supporting our theater students.
We wish our seniors the best as they take their final bow, and we look forward to seeing our underclassmen shine in future productions!
We are Bulldogs—dramatic, but in the best way! 💙🎭

Last week marked a special evening as our Rhythm of the Ridge students held their Elites Induction Ceremony.
Congratulations to our 2026 inductees: Kaedyn Brach, Taraji Green, Destiny Church, and Maya Llamas.
Honor status was awarded to Apple Briscoe, Aro Gleockler, and Alexandra Hennessy.
Well done, Bulldogs! 💙🐾

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Jacob Carpenter for building a beautiful new trophy case for the North Caroline High School Athletic Department.
Inspired by his own experience as a freshman—when a hard-earned team trophy remained in the office instead of being displayed—Jacob took the initiative to create a space where our Bulldogs’ achievements can be properly recognized and celebrated.
This meaningful project was also completed as part of his journey to earning the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts.
Thank you, Jacob, for your dedication, leadership, and commitment to honoring Bulldog pride. Your work will have a lasting impact on our school community! 💙🐾

Congratulations to Linda Ridgell and James Cohoon, who represented NCHS at last night’s Bayside Scholar Athletes Dinner! They are pictured here with our Athletic Director, Mr. Jackson.
We are proud of your hard work, dedication, and commitment both in the classroom and in athletics. Way to represent the Ridge, Bulldogs! 💙🐾

A special shoutout to the Sign Language Club for their outstanding exhibit at Unity Fair! Their display was perfect for our youngest visitors and helped create a fun, engaging, and meaningful experience for all.
Thank you for sharing your talents with our Bulldog community! 💙👏

A huge thank you to Mrs. Wright and her team for hosting our second annual Unity Fair! Bringing our community together in such a collaborative way is truly priceless—and so is the dedication and effort of her team.
More Unity Fair pictures to come! 💙🐾

Last week, French and Spanish students in Ms. Meunier’s and Sra. Bradner’s classes enjoyed a great day at the National Gallery of Art, exploring works by French, Spanish, and American artists. A special thank you to Mrs. Leverage, Mr. Gowen, and Ms. Wilson for their support in making this experience possible! 🎨🌎
Stay tuned for more highlights from last week at The Ridge!
We are Bulldogs! 💙

This weekend, the NCHS Band of Blue traveled to Virginia to participate in the Norfolk NATO Festival Parade of Nations—and brought home silver for their performance! 🥈
The trip also included a fun day at Busch Gardens and an unforgettable experience at the Virginia International Tattoo, where students saw performances from military bands and groups from around the world. 🌎🎺
Fun was had by all—way to represent the Ridge, Bulldogs! 💙

Dr. Moyer’s physics students toured the Dover Air Mobility Museum at Dover Air Force Base on April 9, 2026. Students explored a variety of aircraft often used as real-world examples in class, bringing their learning to life!
They had the opportunity to sit in cockpits and even try their hand at landing a plane using the flight simulator—some more successfully than others! 😄
It was a great day of physics, history, and hands-on learning with some truly extraordinary aircraft. Way to go, Bulldogs! 🐾💙

Students in early childhood are learning about math concepts in Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms.
Today, students memorized number rhyme formations and used a variety of ECE materials to practice.
Students began with wikki stix, then Play-Doh snakes, shaving cream, chalk, and finally watercolor painting.
These materials are developmentally appropriate and engaging and provide many opportunities for students to learn about the formation of numbers from 0-10.

¡Felicidades a todos por este gran logro!

Calendar Reminder: Monday, April 13, half day for students (newly scheduled)

Friday, April 10 - Due to fog in the area, schools will be operating on a two hour delay. In addition, today will now be a full day of school rather than the originally scheduled half day. Please be safe in your travels.

🎉🐾 It’s Almost Unity Fair Time! 🐾🎉
We’re counting down the days until our entire community comes together to celebrate what makes our NCHS family so unique!
Be sure to check out the flyers below for all the details—we can’t wait to see all of our Bulldog families there.
We are Unified Bulldogs! 💙

🐣🐾 Egg Hunt Fun at The Ridge! 🐾🐣
Students from Mrs. Marshall’s, Mrs. Baker’s, and Mr. Hollis’ classrooms participated in our annual egg hunt!
A huge thank you to our Teacher Academy and Early Childhood students for donating their time and resources to make this event so special. And thank you to Mrs. McCormick for capturing all the fun moments! 📸
What a great day for our Bulldogs! 💙

Students learned about the various threats terrapins face, including habitat loss. Students learned how erosion effects Island habitats and explored the ways that the Port of Baltimore is solving this problem by examining the history of Poplar Island. Baby diamondback terrapin ambassadors, Gouda, Feta, Parmesan, Mozzarella, and Ricotta visited the classroom to support the TERP program.
North Caroline High School is raising their own terrapin, "Terry", under the direction of Ms. Mielke. Students take measurements of the terrapins and report the data back to the partners. Having hatchlings in classrooms allows students to have a hands-on learning experience and personal connection to the environment around them.

Today we celebrate and recognize our incredible instructional assistants:
Ms. Banks, Ms. Chester, Ms. Frazier, Ms. Hathaway, Ms. Hicks, Ms. Jones, Ms. Mathis, Ms. Miller, Ms. Spry, and Ms. Sullivan.
We are so grateful for all that you do each day to support our students and school community!
We celebrated with a brunch in your honor—thank you to everyone who helped make this special recognition possible.

We wrapped up the week with a fun staff vs. student volleyball game! Our students played hard and brought the energy as amazing cheerleaders.
Thank you to our staff who always step up to create memorable experiences for our students.
Happy Spring Break, Bulldogs! 💙🌸
